Every year at Christmas, Newport supports a local charity. This year, we have chosen the Bounds Green Food Bank once again, a charity special to our Managing Director and his family. You can read all about our hand sanitiser food bank initiative here - this is a project we are very proud of at Newport Industries: https://www.newport-industries.com/three-inspiring-surrey-teens-lead-100k-charity-projects-to-provide-10000-hand-sanitisers-to-food-banks-nationwide-during-lockdown/.
About the charity
The rise in the cost of living has meant that food banks have been used more than ever. The Bounds Green Food Bank is a London-based charity, created in response to Covid-19 when groups of residents mobilised to support local residents in need. The independent community-run Food Bank opened in June 2020 and has since been providing food, essentials and advice to those in need.
Our donation
During the festive season, we have sponsored the charity's 'Winter Warmers' - a wrapped gift of gloves and a winter hat for all children over 10, which would be handed out by Mrs Claus. Our donation will help to raise vital funds for the Food Bank throughout the winter months. Being able to donate to the Bounds Green Food Bank campaign provides Newport with the opportunity to support individuals and communities outside of our industry, and utilise the resources we have to help aid those in need.
